i loved the way the book is written with it's colorfully macabre language. it's the type of YA novel that i can lose myself into becuase it's sincere in its pain, poetic and horrifyingly relatable. though i admit, the edginess do get tiring at some point.
i think its biggest stumble was somewhere near the end when they looped around to old notions after learning about a new thingthat andrew could control the monsters, not thomas . it sacrificed the good pacing it had going.
be warned though, if a character with severe communication problems os your pet peeve, you will need a lot of patience with the MC.
