Arctic Fire by Keira Andrews

I enjoy Andrews' stories. She always sets her stories in unusual places and her MC’s always face unique situations ( which brings them closer together) because of the environment they find themselves in. In this go around Andrews MC’s Kin and Jack finds themselves stranded during a blizzard.
Captain Jack Turner is sent to the Arctic Circle by his commanding officer on a discovery mission. Kin is a closeted Ranger responsible for patrolling the cold tundra he loves . Jack and Kin struggle at first to find equal footing mainly because of Jack’s arrogance. the more these men talk and are forced to work together for their mutual survival the more they realize they have quite a lot in common.

These two connect on a spiritual level. Andrews did a remarkable writing this tale. It was part of an anthology yet it doesn’t read that way because there weren't any stones left unturned. She packed heavy weighted emotional punches in a short number of pages which I think is impressive. There’s very little steam to be found here so if that the kind of read you’re currently fishing for skip this one… though I think the story is excellent and should be read regardless ;)
