“You destroy me and then you kiss me. You give me reason to hate you and then you give me reason to love you. Is this a lie or the truth? Is this a ploy or your heart reaching for me?”
It took me a bit to get into the story, but after that I found it pretty enjoyable. A few things could have been done better, in my opinion, but I still think it was a good start to a duology. The plot itself wasn’t anything amazing, but it did start to pick up towards the end, so hopefully the sequel will be better!
Regarding the characters, I didn’t love them, but I enjoyed them enough. The only characters that I really cared about were Benedikt and Marshall, to the point where I’m actually dreading to read about what Benedikt will be going through after that ending 🫠 The others all lacked something for me, especially Rosalind, who I still don’t know what to make of.
