This had so many interesting views on so many aspects of being woman that I'm sure it will stick with me for a long time. And it had an interesting writing style and showed interesting parts of everyday Japanese life but unfortunately these two things didn't really work together for me. It felt like she was writing two separate books (because in my opinion the first part could have been edited out completely or made a stand alone) and a non fiction essay.
Midorikos story line just felt weird, there were so many interesting insights and than we didn't even get any opinions from her on motherhood in the second part....
