!! In no way am I trying to invalidate any kind of abuse survivors story,, I am just trying to give my 2 cents on this book !!

I personally did not enjoy this book. I blame people on tiktok for hyping this book up for the wrong reason/genre of book because I was expecting some kind of sad love story. I also would like to mention that i get that people can have different tastes in books and not everyone enjoys every authors style of writing. I found colleen hoovers style of writing weird.. and some of the times random.  <spolier> Also throughout the book and other books of colleen hoovers books that she gets away with making overly shitty situations/ characters actions because it adds to how difficult the cycle of abuse is. Stay with me here. At some point you have to look at this from the view of is this adding to the plot of the story or is this just trying to evoke an emotion out of the reader. I wouldn’t go as far as saying what colleen is writing is trauma p*rn but it does have a blurry line in my opinion. <spolier> i would also like to mention that people did such a great job of glorifying what lily and tate went through on tiktok… i just saw a video of a girl doing the characters in this book to the “and lets be clear i trust no one” trend where REAL VICTIMS talk about their stories with abuse. I found it incredibly inappropriate because at the end it showed a bunch of “happy” and “aesthetic” pictures of lily …. This person also posted plenty of other inappropriate videos about it ends with us that got a lot of views … i think people really need to think before they post.
