The Queen's Resistance by Rebecca Ross
2.0

This was fine. It was a slow read, just like The Queen’s Rising. Mostly I read it out of obligation more than interest. There was a lot of unnecessary drama and a quick glossing over some human trafficking issues that I felt could have been addressed better. Also, the need to keep reminding us of the origins of the teacher-student relationship between Brienna & Cartier/Aodhan instead of moving into a more mature (and less creepy) place. Some people are going to really like this, but it wasn’t great for me. I will day that I appreciate how this series values strong women, not in the “special savior” way, but in a way that feels more authentic.
