Heartless by Marissa Meyer

3.0

As a huge fan of Marissa's Lunar series, I was super excited about her latest venture.

What I enjoyed:
- The audio book was great. The narrator's voice was perfectly suited for this novel and the depth and personality of each character came through.
-The character's were engaging. Marissa develops great story lines, characters you connect with and a whimsical world that engages you.

What I didn't enjoy (so much):
-Catherine was annoooooyyyyyiinnngggg. Ok that's an exaggeration on my part and she certainly fits the role of a daughter of a marchioness - being entitled with grandeur plans without consideration of other's limitations. Perhaps it was the softness she carried with her else where that didn't seem to carry across in certain spaces or with certain people annoyed me.
-The ending was disappointing but I get it. It's why the Red Queen became such a vicious and beheading leader.
- The catalyst for her personality is so cliched that it lost a huge part of my engagement.

A good listen but not one of my top picks from Marissa.
