Royce and Sawyer have great chemistry; I’m really into them as a couple. The problem was that there were way too many things to detract from my enjoyment of their progressing relationship in this.
First and foremost, the whole Levi thing. I can’t believe Sawyer went the entire book trying to convince himself that he should date Levi when he was clearly smitten with Royce, couldn’t stop thinking about him, and they’d had sex. It was ridiculous and stupid, and it made me hate the book just a little bit every time Levi was mentioned. Then there was Royce’s flirting, especially all that with Holly, and his obsessiveness over his dead partner and his family. Not a fan.
The fact that the entire book happens in the span of a few days is also a bit wonky. I feel like these characters deserved a better start of their relationship.
