The Help by Kathryn Stockett

5.0

I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I did. I wasn't expecting to cry with joy, sadness, and heartbreak. This book really made me feel something. I don't really have the capacity to describe or define what I'm exactly feeling. Only that I'm feeling something. Overall, I simply love this book.

If this is a historical fiction, though, it could have fooled me. There is really nothing fiction about it except for the characters themselves. Themes and descriptions noting racism, racial violence, segregation, and feminism. They existed, and they still exist today, which makes this book timely and relevant. No doubt about it.
