"The Hate U Give" is truly an incredibly well-written book. I believe this book serves as an amazing tool for young people to comprehend and somehow grasp the horror of police violence both in the USA and beyond. It's heartbreaking and devastating, yet it also manages to infuse moments of humor. I felt so angry and sad while reading through this book. Despite being categorized as a YA novel, it doesn't fit the typical YA mold due to its serious nature, and I believe that's one of its most powerful elements. Please give this book a chance, as I genuinely believe it will open people's eyes to the enduring pain people of color have to endure every single day.
