I probably should not rate all books right off the bat. I get so emotionally attached to everything I read and the first likely thought after I read a book is, "OMG that was the best thing ever," hence my critical judgment is usually impaired. That being said, Stargirl was a truly great YA novel. If this book gets picked up more in younger classrooms, it could potentially make a difference in the school experience for young teens. I vow this week to channel my inner Stargirl.
