Surviving Savannah by Patti Callahan
4.0

I enjoyed reading this after having visited Savannah a couple of years ago; the story featured a few of the places we went. The novel itself was enjoyable, both the modern-day storyline and the chapters about the sinking of the steamship Pulaski. Though this is a mainstream novel, Callahan's Christianity comes through clearly. There is a lot of introspection and inspiration, particularly about how to live a meaningful life after tragedy.

4 stars.
