The Children Act by Ian McEwan
4.5
dark emotional funny reflective sad tense medium-paced

A really solid book, vaguely familiar (possibly because I often read UK books). Not necessarily something I'd reread but it's well written and the story is interesting. A very human and realistic characterisation in the main character, a nice mix of the legal world at court and the pressure of personal life. Adam makes for an intriguing counterpoint and catalyst. Would probably even enjoy it more if I actually knew all the music they refer to.
