melodytime 's review for:
Vision in White
by Nora Roberts
I really wasn't sure about this book. First off, it was not Roberts' usual trilogy but a quartet so I didn't know if it could be one of her serial romances which I don't care for. Then, so many reviews talked about how they hated it. (There have been misses for me, too, such as The Reef and Midnight Bayou.) But she is one of my favorites so I decided to give it a chance, and I was glad I did. This is the first in a series about four life-long friends who grew up playing "wedding" and as adults, turned that in to a full-service wedding business. This story is about Mackensie who is the wedding photographer. One reviewer complained about the photography references being incorrect but there's barely any technical stuff to get a real read on it. Carter, Mackensie's love interest, is a completely charming, nerdy guy—not the usual, mostly self-assured, men in her other books. It was a pleasing story and I do look forward to the next book. My biggest complaint? The topic of weddings should not automatically mean a fancier print job thus upping the cost of the paperback book. The story just didn't warrant it.
