Me Talk Pretty One Day
by David Sedaris
Disclaimer: I am English and have never heard of David Sedaris before. Was very interested in the sections about speech and language learning. Some of the essays have great voice (liked the one about his brother) but many are mundane and told in a fairly grating tone. Maybe he could've included some more material on his (seemingly quite unique) experiences with crystal meth and modern art, rather than bore us with his father's opinions on his sister's weight and that one really really appalling "essay" that is literally about a shit in a toilet...
