The Vegetarian by Han Kang
3.0

I'm at a loss for how to review this. Definitely one of the weirdest books I've read, and yet I still urged some friends to read it just so I could have people to discuss it with - I see there is some literary value here, but I know I don't fully grasp it. I don't understand what the author is trying to say - I'm not sure the book made a positive case for vegetarians/vegans. The only concept I seemed to somewhat grasp is how the protagonist herself was treated as an animal after her choice of becoming vegetarian.
Not sure I really understood the motivations of any of the characters. Moreover, I'm not sure how much of I may be missing of Korean culture, which may be impacting my understanding as well.
A hard one to pin for me.
