I wouldn’t say I really enjoyed reading this book but it also got better than I thought when I initially started reading. I think the first few chapters were a bit of a slough to get through because I felt like I was re-reading the same chapter over and over.

I think you could argue that the goal was to really emphasize Miranda’s endless pain but I think Awad’s writing was descriptive enough to indicate that over a few chapters. I don’t think I like reading paranoid characters because it makes me anxious to read them and so having a whole book of an obsessive character wasn’t my favorite.

I think the ending was written to be really confusing for the reader and the narrator, so it definitely felt like we went on the journey with Miranda of what was real and what did it all mean. I think the ending was open to interpretation of what happened.
