I enjoyed this least out of the three I’ve read so far. While I still love Jamie and a lot of the other characters, Claire is really starting to get on my nerves (too many reasons to list). What really left a sour taste in my mouth was the racism - I recognise the times were in here and the subject matter, but some of its instances were not there to make a point (don’t condone that either), but just… my gosh they made me uncomfortable. Claire does not come out of this innocent to me.
Oh and Frank. I stood up for him in the past two books, being left stranded and all that. But this time he was a racist idiot. I wished him nothing but badness and he died two pages later… so, yeah.
. Overall, not great, I’m continuing purely for Jamie and Mr Grey (loved him).
Heavily advise reading the trigger warnings before going into this one.
