Twenty-One Days by Anne Perry
3.0
I really wanted to love this first in a series about a young Barrister in 1910 London. I do love books about lawyers, and especially a good courtroom story. And there is a great group of supporting characters about whom I want to know more.
But the writing really threw me -- the dialogue was tough to follow, and people's described reactions sometimes didn't make sense. It all seemed just a few clicks "off" to me.
I will read the next in the series and hope the writing catches up to the story.
Thanks to Random House for the ARC.
