this was beautifully and brutally written, so much sorrow and rage (and love) bleeding off of the page. i really really enjoyed aster as a character. my only criticism is the pacing: i think ending the story essentially unfinished was very purposeful, and i actually really liked that, but i found the events leading up to the ending to be quite rushed. nevertheless, i still think this book was excellent and i’m very much looking forward to reading more by rivers solomon!
