Cover Her Face by P.D. James

Enjoyable murder mystery with complex characters, interesting logistics, classic old-school-English social dynamics, and plenty of red herrings. The style seemed a little derivative of Agatha Christie, but I had no problem with that, as I am a total Agatha addict. The inspector seems like kind of a superhero so far but I suspect a more human side is going to be revealed in the following books.

(I was going to complain about him using the same epigraph Christie used in "Sleeping Murder," one of my favorite mysteries, but actually, this was published 14 years earlier than "Sleeping Murder"! My bad... Sorry, P.D.)
