As a history buff, I was really curious how the text would incorporate existing ancient cultures into wizarding lore and I think Rowling accomplished it well. Overall, it was a bit dry, but as it’s being presented as a textbook, I expected that. I did really enjoy the random anecdotes about specific wizards though, that kept me interested!
