I really enjoyed reading this book and I raced through it in just a few days (might've been because I was sick at home and didn't have much else going on, but whatever). It was easy to read a lot of it at once, an easy and fun read.
The themes are less easy, they're rather dark, but idk, somehow I didn't get pulled into the world and characters as some other books do. So they didn't touch me as much emotionally. Doesn't mean it was a bad read, because no, I did enjoy it very much. It was just not as engrossing as it could have been. Maybe because I personally find stories with morally grey characters less engrossing, maybe it was something else. I don't think it goes as deep as it could have e.g. in exploring the characters and themes. And some of the plot lines were predictable. It was, as said, an easy read, not a deep one.
Still, it was enjoyable and I am going to read the second part of the duology.
