3-3.25 stars. This was only okay for me. This is James and Lindsay's story. James is a rich, society playboy. Lindsay is a Victoria Secret model with a poor family upbringing. They meet at a club in NYC. James wants Lindsay at first sight. They both are drawn to each other. So after a bit of sexy dancing, when James' rich friends decide to leave to hop a private jet to Vegas to continue the party, James convinces Lindsay to come along. Fast forward to the next morning when they wake up in bed together and find they are married. They are both a bit freaked, but James likes Lindsay and doesn't want to never see her again. So instead of getting an annulment, he convinces her to give marriage to him a one month trial. But during this month, they have to deal with James' stuck up friends, his bitchy society mother, and his ex who still wants him. Evidently, they some how work it out between them though.

I just didn't feel the love in this one. I didn't really like James and being in his head. He was a jerky, pretentious, rich manwhore. He mostly just thought of himself and didn't act like he loved Lindsay. I liked Lindsay and I felt kind of bad for her. There was a lot of drama with his family and his ex. For a novella, there was a bit too much going on and none of it got resolved. In the epilogue, it is just explained that they got over it.

I have read and enjoyed Kim Karr's books before. I was expecting this to be similar- a cute, funny rom-com. I just didn't really find this one that funny or cute. I liked the premise though and the writing was good. I will continue to read more from Ms. Karr in the future.
