I loved loved loved reading this graphic novel. It was such an experience. The way the images are drawn, the arabic weaved into the genies, the whole world building and the wish system and how it reflects our current world and how it so perfectly weaves in certain debates like what is considered exploitation and what is considered a sin. Is using a wish a sin if it’s for the good?

And in the center of it all is a man with such a strong faith. I liked how all of the stories didn’t go the predictable way. The wishes were well made and thought out properly and not an easy solution to problems which I really really liked - how it breaks that stereotype. I liked how all the social problems so reflects the real world as well, especially the first story with the rich vs poor. And how that is contrasted with the second story and how they interacted with each other. An amazing book
