From Bad to Cursed
by Lana Harper
Isidora Avramov, proud member of the Avramov clan-a family renowned for necromancy, curses and dark magic-, spends her days working for her family's haunted house but she secretly dreams of leaving the family business and becoming an indie fashion designer.
During the Beltane festival, someone starts sabotaging and harming witches with the signature magic of the Avramovs. They're trying to frame her family and Isidora has to work with Rowan Thorn-the favorited son of her family's rivals and her nemesis- to figure out who.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
This was such a fun read! I love a witchy romance and the mystery element was well-done and I was pleasantly surprised at the twist at the end.
The pacing and the characterization of the characters were well-done and the only thing I wasn't a big fan of was how one of their issues was solved.
I liked how Isidora and Rowan talked out their rivalry but I didn't like how all of the blame was kinda pushed onto Isidora in a way? I enjoy a good enemies-to-lovers but I wish there was more evenness in their rivalry.
It's a fun read and not something you have to over think. I just had a couple of minor issues.

Spoiler
I get that she was breaking the rules and did the dead squirrel thing but his response to the issue was to threaten to get her expelled from their community? That's just so disproportional reaction and was rooted in his prejudice against her family. And it was prejudice! Prejudice is judging someone for their class, race, ethnicity or even family background. i didn't like how Harper shifted that conversation to race because it was irrelevant to that issue at that moment. It's a fun read and not something you have to over think. I just had a couple of minor issues.
