The City & the City by China Miéville

Did not finish book. Stopped at 4%.
The writing style is very thick. You’re given about 30 names in the first 10 pages. It’s written almost entirely in passive voice. It’s set in an ambiguous, surreal European country while making many language, allusions. and idioms that would give specific setting to England. I just couldn’t get into it. It won the Hugo award, so I’m sure it gets to an incredible peak; I’m just not willing to wait that out.
