I’ve becoming quite a fan of Porcellino’s, I like his honest self assessment, sometimes awkward, unafraid to show even the thinking he finds embarrassing or strange, but without false humility or excessive display.
I like the art, it suits the tone and the stories I find.
I like the stories he chooses to tell, the observations, the details he notices, and how he tells them.

I often don’t connect with coming-of-age stories because I can’t relate to the experiences, this one was the first in a long time I really liked. A lot of the experiences, the thoughts, the feelings he describes were familiar
