The Hurricane Wars

DID NOT FINISH: 76%
Started out at a cracking pace, including some plot reveals much earlier than I would have expected. Namely the FMC being the long lost heir of the rival empire, though there was plenty of bread crumbing that something like that was going to be the case Then there's a medium time jump during which the aftermath of the reveal seems to have mostly been handled a lot smoother than you'd expect.
Given how fast paced the opening was, I was surprised how quickly it slowed down, and didn't really achieve much. It gave way to more focus on laying the ground work for the budding (yet glacial) slow-burn romance between the two MCs at the expense of, to me, further world building and story telling of the bigger picture.
I thought I could see it through but at 75% in... I just don't care enough.
