Forever Black by Sandi Lynn

3.0

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, as I haven’t read this author before or heard of the book, however, I liked the cover (which is different to the cover on Goodreads) and wanted to give it a try.

As soon as I started reading, I knew I was going to enjoy it, it was a wonderful read. I really like their dynamics and she doesn’t let him boss her around, his moody character being quite appealing.

The story flows well, the chapters are small and I didn’t want to put it down. I like the way they gradually start getting to know each other and it felt natural. I did find some of their conversations cheesy though, perhaps just me.

As the book proceeds, the relationship starts to feel fast paced, the story line seems to move along quickly, as you get more into the book. It didn’t define a timeline that determines the gradual growth and development of their relationship. The characters acted as if they were well established in their relationship and were communicating as if so, that to me, made it feel a little forced. That saying, it kept me intrigued with all the little twists and turns in the story. I give this book 3.5 stars.

Simple writing, but still a very enjoyable read. There was some mistakes in tenses of sentences, but it was easy to overlook that. I would read more from this author.
