Catch Me When I Fall by A.L. Jackson

5.0

When it comes to Rock Star romance A.L Jackson is my jam. I'm trying not to be bias with my review based on that fact so bare with me.

Royce and Emily meshed so well together. From their first intection sparks flew.

There to get Carolina George to sign to his step fathers record company Royce knows it's not going to be easy. Not when the music has dried up for lead singer Emily.

I enjoyed Royce's cockyness and Alpha persona. A trait that A.L Jackson carries through all her stories. He's hell bent on revenge but will also do anything to protect those he loves.

The way he went about this had me unable to put it down. I needed answers to the questions that kept forming. Thankfully I got them and everything was wrapped up quite nicely.

When it comes to our lead female, Emily, my heart broke for her. She's been through hell and even though she would do anything for the band, more so her brother, She's now at a crossroads with how to move forward. The things Emily went through, she can't talk about and it's killing her music and signing with Mylton Records could be the worst decision she may ever agree too.

A.L took a slightly different turn for this book. She's delved into production of music before with Sebastian starting his own company in the Bleeding Stars series, but this time she pulled back the curtian further and even though we're on the road with the band, A.L Jackson showed us more of what happens with the record company that has made appearances in the two series. I really liked this angle. For me it showed another side to A.L Jackson's music world and I don't think I've seen behind the curtain so to speak in other rock star romances.

I loved the guest appearances from the Sunder boys. Bleeding Stars might be the original series and Falling Stars it's spin off but you don't need to have read Bleeding Stars to vibe with Emily, Leif, Rhys and Richard.

The interaction between The Carolina George crew, especially Mel (the assistant) and Rhys were adorable, funny and A.L Jackson portrayed their connection beautifully.

I'm gonna drop a trigger warning here at about chapter 20 when Emily opens up to Royce and another at chapter 31 when Royce's sister tells her story. Up until those points I wasn't sure what had happened even though I could possibly guess.
