such a good book and when you read her acknowledgements page and her own story, it puts the entire story into perspective as well. one may think or take the character voices as stereotypical but really, what is stereotypical about it? it takes place in 1960's Jackson, Mississippi. It's country. itshe didn't make the characters 'steteotypical' beyond that, in my opinion. rather, she made believable women, believable people with depth, hopes, aspirations, love, and hate. it's something i will always appreciate in a book.
