I was enthralled by each sister and the different paths chosen. By the end I was rooting for one sister over the other and was determined to see the story through. I did not like the jumping of the timeline and from one character to the next without it being clearly stated. But it was a read that I would recommend because albeit fiction, the historical bits were very much an accurate depiction of what it was like to pass as a white American in the 60s-80s or to exist as a black American.
