Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado

5.0

There are some books that are so raw and impactful, that they are simply impossible to review, my head hurts. Everything matters so much, constantly. We were never meant to have a body but trying to escape the fate that is existing, trully and completely existing, is a resignation that will kill you. Margaret Atwood on acid. Existence, and the pain in loving, as a daughter, as a mother, a friend or a lover or the ever-present creature in the mirror. The only way out is within. Fuck.
