The Black Friend: On Being a Better White Person by Frederick Joseph

5.0

Reading this book with my mixed raced tween provided us the opportunity to start engaging in what can be at times an uncomfortable conversation about racism. His life experiences helped shed light on what to prepare for, and how important it is to know your worth and defend it. It also helped me better understand certain frustrations throughout my life, especially during my college years. I greatly appreciated his plain speak, as there was no room to misinterpret what his message was.
