Daphne was on the verge of marrying her fiancé, Peter until he realized that he was in love with his childhood best friend, Petra. Daphne finds herself stranded and unexpectedly becomes roommates with Petra’s ex, Miles. At first, the two roommates pretty much avoid each other, but after Daphne accidentally tells Peter she and Miles are dating, they slowly become friends.

Funny Story is a charming romance, full of funny moments and witty dialogue that had me laughing out loud.  The writing is so well done, as I’ve come to expect from Emily Henry. I loved both main characters. Daphne and Miles were both fantastic characters who have dealt with emotional trauma and learn to grow together. Their friendship and romance was so sweet. This one is definitely one of my favorite Emily Henry books! 

Shout out to the narrator, Julia Whelan for doing an excellent job portraying the characters and their emotions so well!
