Ben is such a lovable character. You can clearly see that he is
fighting the connection and the possibility that Olivia was his "true
mate" because of the rarity. Olivia thought there was something wrong with her because of the last guu who was a potential mate. When the truth came out for both of them there was no fight, no begging, nothing of the sort. It was a real conversation that real adults have. They faced the future together.
