Paris for One and Other Stories by Jojo Moyes

5.0

The short story Paris for One was amazing. It was a story that has been told before, but not by Jojo Moyes, and I loved it. It’s the classic "timid girl goes to a foreign country and meets a cute guy better than her boyfriend and it changes her life" story. I couldn’t put it down! Honestly, I think it could have been a full-length book, not just a short story. The other stories were well-written and interesting as well. Furthermore, I loved the intrigue of Between the Tweets and the twist at the end. Also, Crocodile Shoes was delightful, (but if I had been the main character, I probably would have kept them!) Last Year’s Coat had a similar feel to it, but different circumstances, and I loved that the main character had supportive, loving people in her life. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a big fan of Thirteen Days With John C. because I didn’t like the main character. Additionally, Holdups, Love in the Afternoon, and A Bird in the Hand were kind of forgetful. Finally, The Christmas List was the perfect way to end the book.
