Painfully YA, Unrealistic, and Glorifies Unhealthy Jealousy

I found this book to be painfully YA.
If books centred around teen hormones, angst, and non-communication, you'll enjoy this book. I found myself only able to continue reading it out of a morbid fascination akin to that of watching a trainwreck, since that is what this novel seemed to be.
It follows the story of the main character whose boyfriend of 4 years has been cheating on her for the past two years of their relationship, which she discovers as she catches them en medias res. If this isn't bad enough, she goes home and finds that her family has been murdered, and the only logical solution is to live with a boy and his family to whom she has just met, to which I found myself painfully incapable of suspending disbelief.
Like so many YA novels, it promotes unrealistic relationship expectations and glorifies unhealthy relationship habits like possessiveness and extreme jealousy.
