Joker
by Brian Azzarello
Bermejo's art on this one is fresh and glorious. It's a style I haven't quite seen from him before, and it's pro beyond pro (and I get a couple of those boot shots I love so much).
The story is told through a henchman's POV, as it should be - Azzarello's right that we don't want to decode Joker's head - but the flow didn't work for me consistently. I wasn't buying Jonny's eloquence. But his persona was excellent. And his slow but inevitable understanding that he was nothing more than a brave pawn was beautifully done.
