I’m biased because I wrote my diss on this but Carter was so ahead of her time on aspects on the fluidity of gender and this novel really show cases this. The plot is full of twists and grotesque feminist satire which I love. So rich in references and reworkings of myths as well whether that be from Ancient Greek, Christian or Freudian.
