Evelyn and Beckett. Their romance was cute. Beckett is an awesomely brooding golden retriever of a human and after a one weekend stand months and months prior he still cannot shake the connection he felt to this woman who left, briefly came back into his life, then left again. Evie is at a crossroads with her career and feels like something missing as she daydreams about that weekend so long ago. She goes in search of her happy and the last place that brought her joy was at Lovelight Farms in Inglewood. The town, the Lovelight farm friends, and Beckett’s family are so sweet. Also, Beckett’s quiet longing for Evelyn was poetic and steamy. Beckett has some sensory overload moments that lead me to believe he may be on the autism spectrum, but that was not confirmed on page. The third act miscommunication irked me a tad but all in all I enjoyed this one a lot.
