The Treatment
by Suzanne Young
Im not sure how to rate this. I'm not sure how to rate this one. I absolutely loved The Program. I flew through it and I was dying to read The Treatment to get the conclusion to the story but for some reason I just couldn't get into it and it took me months to read this book. I just wasn't nearly as engaged as a was with book one and I found myself reading a chapter or two then putting it down and not picking it up again for weeks.
That being said, it was still a very good book and I did enjoy it, it just wasn't quite as heartbreaking as The Program for me. The last 20% of this book however did really hit me in the feels, I was really rooting for all of them.
If I lived in this world I wouldn't trust anyone, it was terrifying and everyone was a liar. While I'm sure some of the doctors had good intentions, those we met in The Program were sick, twisted bastards. I hope they rot in prison for what they did to those kids.
“Human beings are cruel creatures. And what we don’t understand, we tamper with until we destroy it.”
I feel like the ending was a little anticlimactic honestly after the whole book was about fighting The Program but I was satisfied with the way things turned out.
