Miracle Creek by Angie Kim

5.0

Liars! This novel is full of liars: liars trying to cover up secrets to protect themselves and their family members, to save face, to save their relationships, to keep from going to prison.

And there are so many red herrings. And red herrings that turn out not to be red herrings.

I was simultaneously suspicious of and sympathetic with so many characters. Angie Kim does a brilliant job of knitting together a very convoluted, twisted plot with a great cast of imperfect but interesting characters.

While reading this novel, I said aloud to myself about a dozen or so times, "Wow! This is so good."

Miracle Creek is a courtroom drama and a mystery that kept me guessing and then second-guessing myself until the final revelations. And I absolutely loved it.
