Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson

5.0

Oh, this was beautiful, whimsical, and endearing. I can not appreciate enough how talented Sanderson is. Having too many vacations, he had time to craft a beautiful young-adult story written so well that it both gives quite a chunk of info on cosmere and Hoid and stays heartwarming and inspiring. And it is also a love story. And he is good at those too. So yes, I LOVED every single page.
The world-building was glorious too. I absolutely enjoyed reading about Lumar with its twelve moons and seas full of dangerous spores that give me the vibes of Myconid Colony (BG3 reference). It is evident that this story hints that those various spores can be controlled in some way. So I do hope that it is not the last we hear of Lumar.
As you can see, I am once again impressed and continue down the cosmere rabbit hole. But I would suggest this book to everyone as it can be enjoyed even if you do not prefer bulkier Sanderson tomes like Stormlight or if you start with the fantasy genre. This one is much lighter and easier to consume and definitely inspiring to read more. In other words, please join our Sanderson cult :D
