2. There was NO reason this book needed to be as long and gory as it was.
Side note: I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration.
Edited to add that this book put me in a major book slump! I could not pick up another thriller until months later because of the trauma I experienced reading this book. The only books I could tolerate were fluffy, lightheaded romance. Genuinely would not recommend this book and do not understand the hype.
