I can’t say Bradbury’s prose is entirely for me, but the earnestness of this book and its consistent relevance and importance in culture made it a worthwhile read. You can feel with every passage how much he cares about what he’s trying to get across to you, and there are some stronger sections (particularly those with Clarisse and Faber) that got me invested emotionally enough to overlook some of the clunkier ones. A lot of his tech concepts are also really great; I think I just got a bit lost in the language of them sometimes. There’s just something really endearing about this book, especially with the context given in the forward and afterward about how he wrote it (which also give some insight into why it probably feels a bit like a first draft - it kind of is). Overall an enjoyable and pretty quick read that I really should have picked up years ago. Better late than never, Montag!
