vmbee 's review for:
Chess: A Novel
by Stefan Zweig
challenging
dark
inspiring
mysterious
oh…. this book went places that I would’ve never dreamed of happening!! so good. &, get why Zweig is an inspiration for Wes Anderson too now!
this was my first book by him, & first book to read from an handful of the new Penguin Archive series… so clean in design & absolutely beautiful as an object!! with nicer paper / typesetting inside than the Penguin Modern books, not to mention the sturdy lovely stock of the cover (& the red text is impressed into it as it’s quite thick)!
more to say, but right now just a bit speechless & thinking on it all!
