I loved this book so much, but it's hard to explain why. Vanessa is a fictional character but she feels so real. The Author really did a great job breathing life into her as a fully developed character. It is so disturbing to be enveloped in a child's mind as they're being groomed and manipulated. But this story was told very well and with a lot of consideration for victims of rape and abuse. The prose is also very beautiful while also being disturbing. This is one of those books where the story stays with you for life.
