I thought this was going to be a second chance romance so naturally, I was scared because I hate that trope with all my heart, but honestly the childhood best friends + the forbidden romance... I mean how could I not request an arc for it? and im glad I did because this ended up being one of my favorite mafia romance I've read.
gonna start saying that the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I wanted more fights between then, idk if this sounds fucked up but it is what it is lmao, there's a big plot in this book, and the forbidden aspect was so good and so angsty, but I wanted their relationship to be rockier you know?
regardless of that minimal thing, Runyx is one of my favorite Mafia authors because she takes the time to build her characters, to make them interesting, and her plots? I always get speechless with her plot twist and with the development she gives to the story.
I already said the characters are amazing, but I kid you not they're on another level, especially Amara, she's my favorite girl in the series, shes so strong and has such a beautiful soul regarding her trauma, Dante was also spectacular, hes really a protective and such a good character, I just want to hug them both because they went through so much shit :(
ps: im making weird theories about the next book, but if the hero is who I think it is I CANT WAIT!!!!
